Production Engineer
At TRS we perform component repair, new parts manufacturing, and consulting services to help industrial turbine owners, operators, manufacturers, and service providers reduce fleet downtime, minimize total costs, and enable new opportunities. Responsibilities and Outcomes
Technical Oversight & Project Guidance
Newly manufactured part and parts repaired by TRS Global can be coated with a wide variety of advanced techniques and treatments to protect components at high operating temperatures and adverse operating conditions. We work with top coating partners to provide services for gas turbine engine components for the Energy and Aeroderivative markets.
Developing Work Scopes & Procedures
Develop professional work scopes, data sheets, and procedures on new or existing product lines and processes, and create, catalog, and revise drawings for a variety of components and engines, all with the fundamental goal of supporting the continued growth and diversification of TRS.
Training & Continuous Improvement
Provide training and instruction to others on using and following new and existing work scopes and data sheets, creating a strong feedback loop with shop employees to reduce waste and improve quality on all managed projects.
Customer Support & Technical Liaison
Generate professional customer job reports, support customer quarterly reviews and job reviews, and act as an ‘engineer to engineer’ contact for customers, ensuring that TRS both understands the needs of our customers and provides the top technical support that our customers deserve.
Sales & Quoting Support
Provide sales support for quoting of jobs to help ensure that expectations are realistic and technical requirements are met.
Effective Communication & Collaboration
Ensure effective communication with the production team, internally across the organization, and externally with our customers and vendors.
Turbine Repair Knowledge & Innovation
Maintain current knowledge of the turbine repair field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, and statistical studies.

Versatility in a Growing Company

Skills and Competencies
- College degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
- Previous turbomachinery repair experience is preferred (including GE, Siemens/Westinghouse, Alstom, and/or Dresser-Rand components).
- Professional technical writing capability is required.
- Interest in quality management or relevant quality management experience is preferred.
- 3D CAD (SOLIDWORKS preferred)
- ERP (Global Shop Solutions ERP preferred)
- MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint

Responsibilities and Outcomes
Technical Oversight & Project Guidance
Provide technical oversight of and guidance to production on designated projects, including but not limited to work scope datasheet control, contract review, and vendor management, while exceeding all internal and customer quality, cost, and throughput expectations.
Work Scope & Data Sheet Development
Develop professional work scopes and data sheets with the fundamental goal of supporting the continued growth and diversification of TRS.
Employee Training & Process Improvement
Provide training and instruction to others on using and following new and existing work scopes and data sheets, creating a strong feedback loop with shop employees to reduce waste and improve quality on all managed projects.
Customer Support & Job Reporting
Generate professional customer job reports, support customer quarterly reviews and job reviews, and function as a technical contact for customers, ensuring that TRS both understands the needs of our customers and provides the top technical support that our customers deserve.
Sales Support & Quoting Assistance
Provide sales support for quoting of jobs to help ensure that expectations are realistic and technical requirements are met.
Outsourced Operations & Supply Coordination
Coordinate the purchasing of supplies and parts. Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
Production Analysis & Problem Solving
Assist in the development and implementation of production tracking and quality control systems, and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports to detect production problems.
Quality Control & Process Tracking
Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, and statistical studies.
Industry Knowledge & Continuous Learning
Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, and statistical studies.
Production Planning & Inventory Management
Review processing schedules and production orders to assist management decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments.
Internal & External Communication
Ensure effective internal communications within the production team, internally across the organization, and externally with our customers and vendors.

- 5+ years of direct experience in the repair of Industrial Gas Turbine components is required.

Technical Sales Manager

Expand Profitable TRS Customer Relationships
Grow TRS sales profitably by expanding TRS’s business with targeted new customers, focusing efforts based on TRS fit, customer need, and the overall profitability of opportunities.
Generate and Prioritize Profitable Customer Leads
Generate, prioritize, and develop new customer leads, creating a solid pipeline based on a deep understanding of TRS fit, customer need, and overall profitability
Disciplined Growth of Existing Customer Accounts
Grow existing customer accounts through disciplined account management, consistent transparent professional reporting/communication, and subsequent identification of new opportunities to create additional value for all parties.
Lead Internal Customer Communication
Lead all internal communication and reporting related to your pipeline of accounts, ensuring customer communication coordination, production alignment, and management alignment.
Commitment to Continuous Sales Skill Growth
Desire and discipline to grow through sales/technical training and industry research.
Skills and Competencies
- 3+ years of sales experience or extensive technical experience (e.g. technical job management, mechanical engineering, machining, or welding) in turbine maintenance or power generation.
- Turbine repair industry experience (definitely preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Expertise in CRM and data management
- Hubspot experience (preferred)
- Technical background in mechanical engineering, machining, or welding (preferred)
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time to build relationships with customers.
